Our Story
Introduction: Our Privileged People’s Development Organization (UPPO) is a non-governmental socio-economic development organization. It is working with the poor and neglected families in Joypurhat district. For their development, the organization is carrying out various activities that are timely. The organization has been providing various training and leadership to the beneficiaries by joining hands with them through its own resources and donations. In order to stand on their own feet and stand tall in the society, all the members of the organization have been working for them voluntarily without any remuneration. In the future, the organization is taking up an action plan to work throughout Bangladesh to make it more widespread.
Name of the organization: – Under Privileged People’s Development Organization
(UPPO)
Address of the organization: (Current and permanent) Khanjanpur, Post Office-Khanjanpur, Thana and District-Joypurhat-5900. However, the working council can move the office to any place if it wishes.
Area of work of the organization: Activities can be carried out throughout Bangladesh for the purpose of socio-economic development.
Monogram of the organization: A circle with a half-finished Babui bird’s nest in the middle and a Babui bird with a coot in its mouth is about to weave a nest in a standing position. The English name of the organization will be completely hidden inside the circle
The Babui bird means a development worker of “UPPO”. The coot in the mouth of the Babui bird means the neglected community of the society. The coot in the mouth of this small bird will form a full-fledged nest. This means “UPO is an organization of the neglected community of the society.
Objectives and goals of the organization:
Objectives: The main goal of the organization is to improve the overall life of the distressed, landless, poor and neglected classes in the society by improving their socio-economic, educational, social and human standards. This organization is a non-political, service-oriented and non-profit development-oriented organization.
Objectives:
a) To make the landless, landless, poor, unemployed, distressed women and neglected groups socially organized, conscious and self-reliant.
b) To undertake literacy programs for adults, education for children and vocational / vocational education programs.
c) To help the disadvantaged groups in undertaking group savings-oriented and income-generating projects.
d) To undertake primary health care, health programs and child health and maternal welfare projects.
e) To support the adoption of necessary programs aimed at public health, population, birth control and planned family planning.
f) Undertake any vocational skill development training project for the poor, unemployed, and benefiting groups on their own.
g) Increase knowledge and skills, responsibility and other means of assistance among the neglected people of the society through community-based cooperative societies.
h) Provide training to the employees of the organization and external volunteers to enhance their skills.
i) Undertake economic projects and launch credit programs for the development of the targeted groups.
j) Undertake appropriate programs to deal with any disaster.
k) Undertake environmental pollution-free programs and afforestation programs.
l) Establish cottage / handicraft industries and small and medium-sized industrial enterprises for the full rehabilitation of distressed and helpless women.
m) Establish self-respect of women at all levels of society and help them in protecting their just rights and empowering women.
n) Undertake programs to prevent polygamy, child marriage, violence against women and child abuse.
o) To undertake possible activities for the development of agriculture, fish and domestic animals and birds.
p) To undertake activities for the purpose of peace and progress, including the elimination of social inequalities.
q) To undertake timely programs for the development of indigenous people and tribes.
r)To make the people aware of their democratic civil rights and to practice them in all spheres of democracy.
s) To prevent child labor and establish child rights.
To provide full rehabilitation to the disabled, mentally and physically handicapped in the society.
t) To establish cordial relations with other domestic and foreign organizations engaged in social development activities and to undertake joint programs.
